How To Lower Your Toxic Load

Hi!

I'm Madison Jules
Here's what I believe: everyone deserves to have access to the knowledge they need to understand what's best for them so they can make informed choices about their life.
READ MY STORY

I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, but I have to come out and say it.

The Environmental Working Group Survey found that on average, American women put 168 chemicals on their bodies every day.

Don’t believe me?

What did you do when you woke up this morning?

If you’re anything like me, your morning probably looked like this…

  • Brush your teeth
  • Take a quick shower
  • Use your favorite cleanser and moisturizers
  • Apply your best-smelling perfume and or deodorant
  • Put on your daily makeup

After that, you probably grabbed a quick breakfast, maybe a coffee with your favorite creamer, or sipped on an energy drink.

And that’s just the beginning.

By the time you’ve finished your morning routine, you’ve already exposed yourself to a myriad of chemicals – and you haven’t even left the house yet.

We All Live In A Toxic Submarine

Turns out Dr. Joseph Pizzorno was right, we’re all living in a toxic bubble.

Everywhere we turn, from the food we eat to the air we breathe, we’re surrounded by substances that can add to our body’s toxic load.

Think about it – that bag of Doritos you ate last week, the chic scented candles you got a crazy good deal on, even the laundry detergent that keeps your clothes smelling ‘clean’ and ‘fresh.’

They all come laced with hidden chemicals.

And while many of these items make our lives more convenient, they come at a cost.

Your liver and kidneys work tirelessly to filter out these chemicals, but there’s only so much they can handle at a time.

And when they’re overburdened, your health can take a hit.

I know mine did.

My Experience With Toxic Load

My wake-up call came after a car accident. Struggling with relentless pain and fatigue, I was at a crossroads: undergo risky surgery or find a different way to heal. I chose the latter.

As I delved into the nitty-gritty of my daily life, I was stunned. The so-called ‘healthy’ choices I was making were, in fact, loaded with toxins.

From my skincare routine to my go-to snacks, hidden chemicals were everywhere!

Something had to change.

I started reading labels like a detective, learning what ingredients meant, switched to cleaner beauty products as I was finishing items (not all at once), and reformed my diet.

Remarkably, my pain eased, my energy bounced back, and my mind cleared. It was as if I was rebooting my system, bit by bit.

Get Out Of Toxic Overdrive Quick!

You may not have been in a car accident recently, however that doesn’t mean everyday toxins don’t affect you.

Reducing your toxic load isn’t just about avoiding potential health problems. It’s about enhancing your overall well-being.

It starts by taking an honest look at the products you’re using – even the seemingly harmless ones – and swapping them for low-tox products.

When I opted for low-tox products I began to experience…

  • Increased energy levels
  • Improved mental clarity and mood
  • Incremental healing of my injuries
  • Better digestive health
  • Enhanced immune function
  • Clearer and healthier skin

I felt better and – dare I say – looked better than ever!

And it all started by making a few healthy product swaps.

How To Reactivate Your Body’s Built-In Detox Machine

Transforming your body into an efficient detoxifying machine is easier than you think.

By focusing on three key areas – Nutritional Swaps, Mindset Shifts, and an Active Lifestyle – you can supercharge your body’s natural detox processes.

Here’s how:

Nutritional Swaps:

Start with your plate. Swap out processed foods loaded with chemicals for more simple, and organic options.

Introduce more fruits and vegetables, especially those known for their detoxifying properties like beets, lemons, and leafy greens. Think about what you can add instead of subtract.

These small dietary changes can significantly reduce the toxin load on your body and boost your liver and kidney function.

Mindset Shifts:

Our mindset significantly influences our choices and habits.

Adopting a low-tox mindset means becoming more mindful about the products you choose and their impact on your health.

It’s about seeing this change not as a restriction but as a journey towards a healthier, more vibrant life.

Celebrate each small win, like choosing a low-tox shampoo or saying no to that tempting but unhealthy snack and choosing one of my favorite healthier options instead.

Active Lifestyle:

Physical activity is crucial for maintaining an efficient detox system.

Regular exercise – be it yoga, jogging, pilates, or whatever YOU enjoy – helps in flushing out toxins through sweat and keeps your lymphatic system running smoothly.

Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity 3-4 days a week (always rest at least 1 day) to keep your detox pathways clear.
