Let’s chat about something we all face – the challenge of figuring out what to eat that supports our health and doesn’t feel like a chore to chew. With so much information out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even duped by fancy marketing like “low-sugar”, “fat-free”, or “no-carb”.
Truthfully, it can be tough to navigate the world of nutrition which just makes it even harder to make the right choices for yourself.
And have you ever noticed how we’ve kind of normalized things that really shouldn’t be? Things like chronic bloating, acne, awful periods, everyday exhaustion, and gut issues. Or even skipping meals, replacing them with coffee, or resorting to things like energy drinks just to get through the day.
And don’t even get me started on fad diets and super restrictive (sometimes even dangerous) meal plans – been there, done that. It’s exhausting and doesn’t work, right?
I know all this because, hey, I’ve been there. I was thrust into this journey following a serious car accident. When conventional medical advice couldn’t give me any relief from the fatigue and constant pain I was left with, and I was told surgery was my only option — I decided to take things into my own hands. I dived deep into researching ingredients and products, looking at how I was sleeping, what I was eating, how I included movement in my life, my screen time, and so much more. I went down the rabbit hole!
I was on a mission to feel better. Not just better than after the accident, but better than I ever had before and I was willing to do all the research (which I found I actually loved) to make it happen. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no problem with surgery, it just felt right to try less extreme, invasive options first and thankfully I found exactly what I was looking for.
As I started to get a grip on things, I realized something wonderful – I wasn’t just learning new things, I was becoming truly passionate about my new journey. It was actually fun!
I began exploring low-tox living, and the more I learned, the more it made sense to me. I began to notice how much better I felt when I removed some of the toxins from my food, cosmetics, and household products. It was such a radical change that it didn’t take long before friends and family were asking for tips. No more puffy face, way more energy, mental clarity like never before. And all because I was mindful of what I was putting in and on my body.
That’s when I realized I could help others the same way I was helping myself.
Here’s what’s really cool about my approach: it’s not about extreme dieting or cutting out everything you love. Or throwing yourself into a destructive workout routine.
It’s about taking baby steps towards overall holistic health — however is best for your mind, body, and soul. It’s about learning to make choices that we believe are better for us when it comes to food and lifestyle.
