Being a jewelry designer, I might be a little bias and obsessed with these trends. Nonetheless, I put together a short list of my favorite trends. It was difficult to narrow it down, because I don’t discriminate against any jewelry ;)
The ones you put away years ago - (no, not the ones you took from your Grandmas jewelry box) are everything now. This spring we’ll see pearls picking up steam and being worn in all types of jewelry. We’re seeing baroque pearls - this means they look more natural and atypical in shape like seen from Burberry, all the way to polished pearls like seen from Jason Wu. Polished round shaped pearls are also being used in headbands, hair accessories, and earrings. They can elevate any look adding a touch of chicness!
Yes, I’m talking about safety pins in your ears and thick chains. This spring we’re going to see the 70’s rebellious vibes in our jewelry. Too much for you? Wear the safety pin look with a little bit of pave, or in a necklace to make it less intense .
As seen in brands such as Zimmermann, Brandon Maxwell, and Chanel , chunky chains are the statement this spring. This doesn’t mean strictly silver and gold. You can expect to see enamel and some color too. These chains are meant to be layered! A fashionista way to style your oversized chains is to pair it and layer them with thinner and more dainty pieces.
Oversized, long, bold earrings are here! This includes big pearl earrings, resin hoops, colorful, and large hoops as well! Now is the time to show off those cute ears with your funky earrings! Statement earrings so fun they’re difficult to go unnoticed.
Enthusiasm is growing for this enjoyable trend. This includes bright colors, pastels, youthful pieces, and rainbow! Every spring we resort back to our love for bright color stories, and this trend evokes a lighthearted vibe as well as a budding energy to the spring season. Anna Sui and Moschino are not the only designers boasting these bright colors for spring 2020. A pop (or full on) color in your necklaces and bracelets are must haves for this season.
